Surface Preparation
The surface must be sound, clean, and free from loose materials, grease, laitance, dirt, curing compounds, and other contaminants. For larger areas, divide the space with wooden battens to control the pouring volume and determine the thickness of the applied layer. Follow the expansion joints in the substrate to segment the application area.
Priming the substrate is essential. Use Vetoprime PB433 diluted with potable water at a ratio of 1:1.5. Mix thoroughly and apply it to the floor using a spray or brush, ensuring no pooling occurs.
Before applying Vetotop CL530, allow the primer to dry fully for 1-2 hours. To check the dryness of the primer, add a few drops of water onto the primed surface; if the water is not absorbed, the primer is dry.
Mixing & Application
For mixing a single bag, add 5.0 - 5.5 liters of water for each 25kg bag of Vetotop CL530 into the mixing container. Gradually add the powder to the water and mix using a mechanical plaster mixer or a low-speed electric drill fitted with a suitable paddle for 3-4 minutes, until a uniform, lump-free fluid consistency is achieved.
Do not mix more material than can be applied within 15 minutes. The mixed material retains its flowability for approximately 15 minutes under normal room conditions.
Placement should be done directly from the mixing container onto the primed substrate, starting from the center and working outward, especially in narrow areas. It is crucial to pour the material continuously without any time gaps exceeding 10-15 minutes between the newly poured material and the previously applied sections to ensure a perfectly leveled surface.
After placing the material onto the primed surface, assist in spreading it using a leveling smoothing trowel or a pin gauge rake. If necessary, use a suitable spike roller to remove any entrapped air.
Curing
Vetotop CL530 is a self-curing product. Protect the applied material from environmental factors such as wind, direct sunlight, dirt, and dust exposure for at least the first 2 hours to ensure a smooth, leveled, and hard surface.
