GRANDBOARD 3 is a heavy-duty High Performance Semi Rigid, Pre-formed, durable, rotproof, protection board composed of mineralized polymer bitumen impregnated and coated with rot proof cores covered with polyethylene film on both sides. It is unaffected by permanent immersion in water. GRANDBOARD 3 is capable of providing excellent resistance to damage and impact from backfilling operations as well as effective protection against construction traffic, concreting and other topping work.

GRANDBOARD 3 should be applied when the ambient temperature is between 5°C and 55°C and should be avoided in case of extreme weather conditions such as sand storms, rain, etc. GRANDBOARD 3 can be fixed on top of the waterproofing membrane by using Cold adhesion by spot bonding with adhesive Strip or even by torching. Heated application by slightly burning the underside of the board away from the surface and quickly pressing it (for fixing over torch applied membranes). Once the protection board is fixed in place, supports/props have to be used to keep the boards in place till the adhesive is strong enough to hold the board. During backfilling care must be taken to ensure the board is not dragged down. Subsequent boards shall be laid continuously by butt fitting the edges. For irregular profiles, the board shall be cut to fit all intersections and protrusions.

GRANDBOARD 3 can be used as a protection layer over waterproofing applications on bridge decks, parking garage decks, terraces, tunnels, foundation walls and slabs and wet room floors. It is ideally suited to withstand the shock and impact of backfilling and paving as well as normal on-site traffic, concreting, or other toppings.
