The surface must be properly cured, clean, solid, and free from non-adherent materials such as cement laitance, oils, old varnishes, etc. For highly porous concrete surfaces, apply one coat of GRANDCRYL C diluted with 10% water as a primer to seal the pores. This primer coat stabilizes the surface and acts as an adhesion promoter for the top coats.
For metallic surfaces, all corrosion and scales must be removed. Clean the surface using a steel brush or by sandblasting. When applying on old bituminous sheets, brush the surface and clean it with water.
Mixing
GRANDCRYL C is supplied ready to use on-site. However, it is important to mix the contents in the pail before application to eliminate any sediments present.
Before applying the second coat, conduct a close visual inspection of the surface for any pinholes or irregularities. The second coat should be applied at a 90˚ angle to the first coat to ensure a complete and unbroken coating on the substrate.
Clean all tools with water after use. To achieve optimal performance, allow the coating to cure completely for 7 days.
